The short visit to Ubud was definitely worth our one hour scooter drive in the heat.

We explored the rice terraces in Tegalalang, went to the market where I learned to enjoy the bargaining process for the first time and ate probably the most delicious meal of our trip in a restaurant called Watercress.

You could definitely notice that your more "inlands" as Ubud is located more in the center of Bali. The air is different and the nature feels more like a jungle with the palm tree forests around you. On our way back to Canggu, we chose the scenic route and drove through the green fields and on the little roads where palm trees are framing the view.

All this feels a little surreal right now.
